Derek C Buckingham
Derek established Afro Boy Productions back in 2017, but the life of Afro Boy started well before that. Back in 2000 he attended a 3 year design program at Grant McEwan located in Edmonton, Alberta. Derek received a certificate in Design Foundations and a diploma in Design & Digital Media. The original Afro Boy logo was developed during those early days and has been an integral part of Derek’s identity as a designer.
He started his career shortly after graduating, growing unique skill-sets designing for a variety of industries, creating everything from headstones, monuments, websites, print design, signage, animations, and so much more. With over two decades of experience, Derek has worked with top agencies including Republix, Noodle Wave, Alpha, 460 Communications, Impact Visual Communications, and Consumer Strategies Group.
