Afro Boy Productions is now open for business

Hi and welcome to Afro Boy Productions. I'd like to take a moment and tell you a bit about how this all got started for myself. After 14 years of working for other marketing firms, it was time to try something different. I decided this was the perfect opportunity to start my own business and to explore some ideas I have had kicking around for awhile now. So I pulled up my big kid pants and made the plunge. I enjoyed my time working for those companies and I learned and gained a lot of new skills. So here we are, the start of a new venture and I am excited to share it with you.

Wolf In The Fog Swag - wolfinthefog.com

I was actually inspired by a restaurant I went to a couple of years ago in Tofino called "Wolf In The Fog". A couple friends and myself headed to the west coast of the island for a day trip and my friends uncle recommended we check out this place. We got there a bit early and discovered the restaurant wasn't open yet, just the bar. So we decided we would sit and have a beverage before we continued on our adventure. I was really digging the vibe while I was sitting there taking in the atmosphere. Even though we didn't try their food and only bought one drink, Wolf in the Fog had impressed me with their look and style so much, I ended up purchasing one of their hats. The thing that stood out to me was this was a restaurant that has this cool vibe, playing records with some great tunes, and then some cool swag on top of that. It made me think... this is really smart marketing. Everyone felt laid back and it just had that good island feel. As I was developing my business and my plan, I thought, this is how I want my design company to be. I will continue creating industry leading graphics while establishing my own brand.

The Swans

The best part about living on Vancouver Island is there are so many places to visit and see. I can often be found exploring trails and various parts of the island throughout the year. I always pack my camera with me as you never know what you might see.

Recently I was in the Geno Bay area and saw a swan milling about near some floating homes. When I got closer another one came around from the other side. So I took a 4k video with my iPhone and I am pretty impressed with the quality. They both came right up to me, which allowed me to get some pretty amazing photos as well.
